Summary
This documentary includes comments by the actors on the issues in the musical play Solid Sistas, which was first staged by Wan Smolbag in 2004, as well as footage of the show and rehearsals. The play, written by Jo Dorras, ran in 2004 in Port Vila and in 2005 in both Port Vila and Luganville. It was a resounding success, reflecting peoples' lives and pulling on their heartstrings, attracting ever-larger audiences. It was seen by an estimated 15,000 people, many of whom became regular fans. About Won Smolbag Theatre: Won Smolbag was been working in the Pacific region since 1989, taking plays and films on governance, health and environmental issues to the people of the region in order to promote community discussion and action. Based in Port Vila, they operate in the media of theatre, radio, TV and video, as well as provide local performance training so that community theatre groups around the region can use their own performances as a stage for voicing local issues and solutions.
