Summary
In the winter of 1940, Elizebeth Smith Friedman, Cryptanalyst-in-Charge for the United States Treasury Department, sat at her desk, decoding a fresh set of intercepted radio messages. Friedman's work would save thousands of lives, stop fascist military coups, and send dozens of Nazi spies to prison. The mission would be the greatest secret of her career, and it would go with her to the grave.
